The Playbook Project Coordinates Countywide Food Distribution
The Playbook Project coordinated a food-distribution initiative spanning all 18 cities in San Diego County. Founded by Elijah Johnson, the effort brought schools, athletes, businesses, churches, volunteers, public officials, and community organizations together around one shared mission: serving local families.
Working with the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank, organizers distributed approximately 13,000 pounds of food and served about 450 families. Distribution locations and local partners helped extend the project across the county rather than concentrating the effort in a single community.
The initiative was presented as the first countywide feeding effort of its kind in San Diego history. Beyond the amount of food delivered, its central message was that coordinated service can unite an entire region around a practical and immediate need.
