TECh 2025: Awarding Student Innovation
SafeBallot was selected as one of five finalists in the University of San Diego's 2025 Torero Entrepreneurship Challenge. The selection recognized a student-led concept built to make voting more accessible while protecting the integrity of election records.
The platform was presented as a secure digital voting system combining identity authentication, encrypted data, real-time confirmation, and an auditable record of each election. Its purpose was to give organizations and voters a modern option without sacrificing confidence in the result.
Advancing to the finalist round gave the SafeBallot team an opportunity to refine its business case, present the product to experienced judges, and compete for seed funding. It also marked another step in the company's progression from a university idea to an emerging civic-technology venture.
