Founder Elijah Johnson Reflects on the Mission
After months of planning, relationship-building, early mornings, and late nights, Elijah Johnson reflected on the first Playbook Project and the belief that inspired it.
The initiative brought all 18 San Diego County cities together, distributed 13,000 pounds of food, and served approximately 450 families. Johnson expressed gratitude for the athletes, schools, businesses, churches, volunteers, officials, sponsors, and community leaders who made the effort possible.
For Johnson, the project's meaning was not limited to the final totals. Its real achievement was demonstrating that an entire region could choose unity, collaboration, and service around a shared goal. He described that collective commitment as the foundation on which the project's future impact would be built.
