Elijah Johnson Launches a Countywide Mission to Feed San Diego Families
Elijah Johnson launched The Playbook Project with a goal of uniting every city in San Diego County around a single act of service.
The initiative coordinated schools, athletes, companies, churches, volunteers, public leaders, and the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank across all 18 cities. Organizers planned to serve approximately 450 families and distribute 13,000 pounds of food through multiple local sites.
Johnson emphasized that the project's purpose was not defined only by the quantity of food. Its larger aim was to demonstrate unity and show what becomes possible when an entire county works toward one common goal.
At Frontwave Arena, he introduced the effort alongside Paralympians, Olympians, professional athletes, executives, and community leaders, describing public visibility as a platform that carries a responsibility to serve.
